Remembering Trevor Conway

Canterbury Group has placed a plaque on a bench in the Peace Pavement of the Dane John Gardens to commemorate their friend and colleague, Trevor Conway, who died last year.

Trevor was a founding member of The Three Cities Association which was instrumental in the creation of the Peace Pavement. Friends representing Trevor’s many and varied interests gathered there on Wednesday 17 July to celebrate his life.

The plaque, which reads ‘Trevor Conway 1932-2013 – tireless campaigner for peace and human rights’, was unveiled by his wife, Vida. People spoke of his energy, enthusiasm and wisdom, his wit and humour, but above all his enduring passion for justice and human rights.
